Who doesn’t want soft skin? Here’s a quick, easy and chemical free way too touch up your skin once in a while.

What you need//

  1. Salt or sugar
  2. Water
  3. Towel
  4. Moisturizer
  5. Olive oil.

// Rub the oil onto the area of skin.
Pour a little bit of olive oil onto the area and rub it well. You can rub it by massaging in circular movements.

// Exfoliate the area with salt or sugar.
Put a generous amount of salt onto the skin area and scrub. Don’t be rough or you might hurt your skin. But don’t be afraid of scrub well. It’s important because this step removes dead skin.

//Leave it in for 10 minutes.
This step takes patience. You can scrub while you’re waiting. But be careful, because if you don’t leave it in for 1O minutes, you’re skin won’t be soft :c

I don’t know about you but I for one get really excited for back-to-school shopping. The thing about back-to-school shopping is that you have to go to SO MANY STORES && it get’s really annoying. Unless you want to go out to get school supplies all on one day and pay $267 for school supplies which I’m sure no one wants to do, you should look for sales and be a smart shopper 😉

Here are some great places to look (In order of the ones that have the most sales):

Make sure to look at the weekly ads every Saturday or Sunday and write down what is on sale and what you want to buy from each store, each week.

That means tanning, traveling, looking good (which means get up and workout) etcetera, etcetera.

So come on tell me, who wouldn’t want to loose all the weight gained from stress, random snack breaks and the couple extra pounds from just all year round? I mean come on I would love to look and feel better for the up coming school year and I know you would too.

This is why I found an eight week workout for you guys to get fit this summer.

LETS GOOOOOO!

1st and 2nd week

In first and second week you will workout on 3 days and the 4th day is optional.

Day 1:
– jog 8 minutes.

Part of summer is getting tan right? And what better way to show off your tan then a sun tattoo, or ‘TAN-too’!

It’s easy & simple && here are some ways to get a tan tattoo.

1// A sticker.

Get a sticker! It should be a basic shape like heart, star, etc. Clean & dry the place you want your sticker to be, and place it on your skin. Leave it on while tanning, then remove and there you go, you have your tattoo.

2// Sunscreen.

Most people use this method. Take some sunscreen on a Q-tip or your finger and draw a simple shape. Make sure the sunscreen isn’t too think. Leave it on while tanning outside or in a tanning bed, then rinse off after consistent sun.

For those striving to attend college after high school, you all know you need to take the SAT/ACT (see which one your university requires before you take the one you prefer) and to attend amazing universities, you need exceptional scores in order to even be considered.

The ACT is curriculum-based (English, math, reading, science and an optional writing section), while the SAT is more of an aptitude test focused on vocabulary, reading comprehension, general reasoning and problem-solving skills.

If you have a hard time staying focused for long periods, the ACT may be the test for you. It’s shorter, generally more straightforward and there are more knowledge-based questions. English and math are a part of both tests, but the content and orientation is different.

Baking soda is something I’m pretty sure everyone has in their house. Besides being used to cook and clean here are a few beauty benefits of it also:

1// Facial Scrub
Mix water and baking soda to make a paste (about 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water), use it as a scrub to exfoliate your face. Gently massage it into your face for about 1 minute in circular motions, then – rinse. This gentle scrub will make your skin very soft and smooth. I love using it one or two times a week.

5 minute abs.

Obviously you’re not gonna get abs in 5 minutes BUT this workout, if done consistently like everyday for 5 minutes will eventually give you abs.

 

1. 25 leg lifts.

Position yourself flat on the ground, lying on your back, head and shoulders on the floor. Keep both of your legs and raise them to about a 45 degree angle, hold for two seconds, than bring them back to the floor; but DO NOT TOUCH them on the floor or it will wreck the workout. Also, make sure not to arch your back, keep the rest of your body flat as your legs lift and lower. If it does arch, badly, or your abs aren’t that strong bring your legs higher when you lift.

Easy butterscotch cookie bars.

 Salted vanilla-caramel and butterscotch cookie bars that are soft, creamy, and gooey

Ingredients//

  • 25 Lancaster Vanilla-Caramel Soft Cremes
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butterscotch baking chips
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

2.Remove all of the vanilla-caramel candies from their wrappers. Cut each of the caramels in half and then toss in a small bowl with one tablespoon flour to keep them from sticking together.

3.Heat a skillet over medium heat. Slice the butter into 6 individual tablespoons and add the butter to the skillet. Whisk the butter frequently. When the butter melts all the way it will foam up a bit. Watch the butter carefully for lightly browned specks at the bottom of the skillet. Remove from the heat and immediately pour the butter into your mixing bowl.

4.Browning butter can easily get burned so watch it carefully and make sure it doesn’t get too brown or burned. If it does, you will need to start over.

5.Beat together the browned butter and brown sugar. Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat well.

6.In another bowl stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add the dry to wet and blend until well incorporated.

7.Spread about one cup of the mixture evenly on the bottom of your prepared pan. Sprinkle the vanilla caramel pieces over the batter. Sprinkle the butterscotch baking chips on top. Gently spread the batter over the butterscotch baking chips to cover as much as possible (the mixture spreads as it bakes so just try to make sure it is even on top).

8.Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until the sides and top are lightly browned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

9.Sprinkle with sea salt.

DIY natural energy drinks.

Hey guys, so there are a lot of energy drinks out there that promise so many hours of energy in just one bottle, but they can be very dangerous if you drink too many. If you want a less processed way to get energy, make one of these!

The Fire Hydrant

  • water
  • 1 slice lemon
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper

The lemon helps your body maintain a healthy pH level. The cayenne pepper raises your energy naturally and protects your heart. Combine this with the water you need to stay hydrated!

 

The Quick Fix//

  • 1 1/2 – 2 teaspoons honey (for taste)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric

Cut off two thin slices of ginger and add it a mug of hot water. Use a garlic press to juice the rest, and add it into the water along with the spices and stir. Ginger and turmeric speeds up metabolism and increased circulation. Cardamom speeds up your metabolism and boosts energy. Honey is one of the best sugars for your body.

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/4 cup raw almonds or 2 tablespoons almond butter

Where I live it’s Fall and is pretty cold and its only October 😛 I feel like it might snow around the end of the month.

A lot of people are also getting sick and I felt like I was sorta getting a sore throat and was looking up stuff so I decided why not put this up as a tip?

So here are a few things that will help sooth a sore throat:
Garlic//

Try it when: You begin to notice a tickle.

You could microwave a few cloves for about 10 seconds (so it taste less yucky) and crush them up and eat it with honey or crackers.
Zinc Lozenges//

Try them when: You have mild soreness along with a stuffy nose. Pop in one every two to four hours as needed.

Edible (eggless) Cookie Dough Recipe!

OH MI GOD. I will never be able to bake cookies or cake without at lease trying a bit of the batter because it just just SO delectable but unless you want Salmonella and diarrhea for a week I suggest you don’t. THANKFULLY I found an egg free recipe in this old book of my moms and now you can snack on cookie dough as much as you want without worrying at all.

Prep Time: 5 min.
 
INGREDIENTS//
 
• 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
• 3/4 cups packed brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla (feel free to adjust)
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 2 tablespoons milk 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

 

DIRECTIONS//

With your mixer, cream together butter and brown sugar. Add in vanilla and salt, mix. Add in flour. The mixture is going to be crumbly at this point. Add in 2 tablespoons of milk and mix. Now the dough will look like the cookie dough you’re used to seeing. Fold in 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips and 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips. Store leftovers in the refrigerator. Freeze for up to three months.

Day 1:
– jog 10 minutes
– 8 pushups
– 20 sit ups
– 10 jumping jacks
– 12 squats
– 20 butt kicks
– jog 5 minutes

Day 2:
– 6 pushups
– 1 minute wall sit
– 20 sit ups
– 20 jumping jacks
– 8 lunges
– jog 15 minutes

Day 3:
– 15 sit ups
– 4 pushups
– 8 squats
– 15 butt kicks
– 6 lunges
Repeat this 3 times and then jog 8 minutes

Day 4:
On this day choose one of this activities:
– swimming (about 30 minutes with breaks if you need them)
– jogging 30 minutes
– riding a bike 30 – 45 minutes
– playing tennis (if you have a friend who would also like to some few pounds you could go play tennis together)
6th, 7th and 8th week

In 6th week you will workout 4 days and in 7th and 8th week you will work out 5 days

Day 1:
– jog 10 minutes
– 1 minute wall sit
– 8 pushups (try 10 if you can)
– 20 sit ups
– 15 jumping jacks
– 15 squats
– 20 butt kicks
– jog 5 minutes

Day 2:
– 8 pushups (try 10 if you can)
– 45 seconds wall sit
– 20 sit ups
– 20 jumping jacks
– 8 lunges
In 6th week repeat this 2 times and in 7th and 8th week repeat it 3 times
– jog 8 minutes

Day 3:
– 20 sit ups
– 6 pushups
– 1 minute wall sit
– 10 squats
– 20 butt kicks
– 6 lunges
Repeat this 3 times and then jog 10 – 15 minutes

Day 4:
– jog 30 minutes or if there is a pool in your neighborhood you should swim about 30 – 45 minutes

Day 5 (only 7th and 8th week):
On this day choose one of this activities:
– swimming (about 35 – 45 minutes with breaks if you need them)
– jogging 30 minutes
– riding a bike 45 – 60 minutes
– playing tennis (if you have a friend who would also like to some few pounds you could go play tennis together)
That’s it. Don’t forget to stretch before and after workout, drink water during the breaks between workouts and don’t eat too much :). After these 8 weeks if you start to like working out more, you should jog around your neighborhood sometimes, go swimming or join a sports team.
