Getting Rid of Split ends

Things you’ll need:
Wide toothed comb
Pair of hair scissors
Leave in conditioner and hair detangler
Regular hair trims
Weekly hair mask
Proper hairbands (if used)

1// Identify whether you have split ends in your hair. There are several types:

– The generic end split
– Splits occurring multiple times up the same strand of hair
– A split occurring in the middle of the hair strand that will appear as a hole if the strand is bunched up

2// Cut a snip of hair off. Cut no more than 1/4 or inch. You can do this as much as you want depending on how bad your hair is.

-Single strand knots (not really split ends) which occur most often in dry, curly hair

3// Get your hair cut regularly, meaning every six to eight weeks. All hair gets damaged after a while. Get a trim of at least 1/4 to 1 inches, and you should have solved the problem. It will remove split ends and keep your hair healthy and growing strong. Note that you really only need to trim when you have splits on the ends of the hair, so your schedule may vary with your hair type, how you treat your hair and your style goals.

4// Cut them yourself between haircuts using a pair of hair shears. Cut about 1/4″ above the split of a single strand; there may even be a small ball above the split. If you don’t cut above the damage, the split will reappear.

5// Don’t rely on products that claim to “heal” split ends. They can seal the split end to help it look healthier, but they aren’t reversing the damage. These products can, however, help prevent future damage to otherwise healthy hair.

Here are some of the ways the hair is damaged every day and how to prevent damage from these factors and in turn split ends.

Most kinds of chemicals are going to damage your hair to some extent. Chemicals from getting a perm, having your hair highlighted, colored, etc., or even chlorine in bath or pool water all count.
Try to steer clear of chemicals. Natural hair is beautiful. If you absolutely must color your hair, search for the gentlest coloring agent you can find. If you are going to be using chemicals on your hair, be sure to condition your hair more often.

Protect your hair before swimming in a pool, ocean, or lake. This could include: using a leave-in conditioner, oiling your hair, or using a swim cap. Rinsing your hair thoroughly before swimming will also help it absorb fewer chemicals. Be sure to rinse and shampoo your hair as soon as possible after swimming.

Find out if the water you use to wash your hair is harmful.
There can be damaging chemicals in the water you wash your hair with…mainly chlorine. There are filters that will reduce the amount of chlorine in your water.

Brushing and Combing
Many people don’t realize just how fragile the ends of the hair are. Being too rough with a brush or comb, or brushing or combing too often can damage your hair.
Stop teasing or backcombing your hair. This is the most damaging type of brushing. It pulls up the scales of your hair and when you comb/brush that section again the scales break off.

Find a hair friendly comb and/or brush. If you have thicker hair you may need to use a pick or wide-toothed comb. Combs, in general, are more gentle. Your brush or comb should aid you in untangling your hair, not pulling it out.

Never over brush. 100 brushstrokes is not necessary, and may lead to more splits than anything else.

Comb the hair gently. Start at the bottom and work your way up. When you encounter a tangle, don’t rip the comb/brush through it, stop and untangle with your fingers and then proceed. You have to be extremely gentle while untangling wet hair. Curly hair types may require combing the hair when it is still wet.

The Sun
Protect your hair from the Sun. Ultraviolet rays can be as damaging to your hair as your skin.
Wear a hat. If your hair is super long and/or thick, be sure to get a hat that you will be able to fit all your hair into (preferably in a bun).

Look for conditioners that contain sunscreen or mix sunscreen and conditioner together and leave that in your hair.

Washing and Drying
Incorrect washing and washing with shampoos that are too harsh or contain certain ingredients can be damaging to your hair. Rubbing your hair with a towel to dry it can cause nasty damage to your hair. Using a hair dryer on your hair too often will also cause damage.
Buy a good shampoo and conditioner and experiment with what works best for your hair. This may include not washing it every day–possibly conditioning it will suffice.

Wash your hair properly. It is best to only wash the scalp hair and leave the length to hang down your back and the length should not be piled on top of your head. When you rinse the shampoo out of your hair, the shampoo will run down the length, that is as much washing as the ends of your hair need. Conditioner should then be applied to the length to soak for a while before rinsing out. Hot water strips away moisture so rinse your hair with the coolest water you can stand.

Deep condition regularly. If your conditioner regimen isn’t working, try a “deep condition” once or twice a month. This involves putting a leave-in conditioner or oil on your hair and leaving it in for a while. Oils like jojoba and coconut oil are fantastic for this.

Dry hair gently. Vigorously rubbing your hair dry with a towel is not a good idea. Dripping wet hair should be gently squeezed with a towel to get rid of the excess water. Once the excess water is removed, it is best to let your hair air dry naturally. [I have a bad habit of doing this and definitely need to stop]

Tone down the drying. If you are using a dryer or hot tongs regularly, your hair will start to show some damage–the hot air removes moisture from your hair. Using too hot a setting or holding the dryer too close to your hair will also cause damage. I honestly don’t remember the last time I hair dried my hair or even used a hot tool on it and my hair is good but my mom, on the other hand, blow-dries her hair ever single day and it’s really rough. [Ironically, she’s doing it right now]

Tips and warnings:

For oily hair try washing your scalp with a gentle shampoo and use a light conditioner on the length on a daily basis.

For curly hair you have to be very gentle. Let your hair air dry if you live in a warmer arid climate. Use a blow dryer on medium to low with a diffuser if you live a cooler more humid climate. Comb out tangles in the shower while you still have conditioner in your hair.

For dry hair try these tips. Do not dry your hair all the way, it tends to dry it out more. Use coconut, avocado, or jojoba oil overnight as a deep conditioning treatment.

Eat a balanced diet. Getting all the vitamins and sufficient protein will ensure that your body produces the healthiest hair possible. Vitamins sold at drugstores can also help increase growth.

Do not cut your hair without the proper tools. A good majority of the general population do not have scissors sharp enough for cutting hair. Buy a pair of hair-cutting scissors, and use them only for hair. Dull scissors will only encourage the hair to split further.

Be sure not to fall into the bad habit of taking a section of your ponytail in each hand below the hair band and pulling the two sections apart to tighten the ponytail. This is equivalent to back brushing and very damaging!

Do not straighten or curl your hair everyday once every two weeks or maybe even once a month depending upon your requirement.

Just try to take care of your hair because it’s your hair and remember a little effort now will help so much in the long run. Plus who wouldn’t love to show off their beautiful hair?

Hope this helped you guys.

Raving Reviews: Caltrate 600 Vitamin+D Soft Chews [Chocolate Truffle]

raving reviews

So I’ve been planning to start this little series for a while. Basically I’ll be posting little reviews of things I’ve tried so that you guys can benefit and get some too.

Today I’m gonna talk about this:

Most people I know don’t really like Vitamins but lack them. Before these I hardly took any vitamins because I usually forgot or just didn’t like them. These taste great and the only con about them is that you should try to have some self-control because they’re really addicting.

The lowest you can by 60 is for $8 at Walmart.

Why you might need Vitamin D:

Your body must have vitamin D to absorb calcium and promote bone growth. Too little vitamin D results in soft bones in children (rickets) and fragile, misshapen bones in adults (osteomalacia). You also need vitamin D for other important body functions.

Vitamin D deficiency has now been linked to breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, heart disease, depression, weight gain, and other maladies. These studies show that people with higher levels of vitamin D have a lower risk of disease, although they do not definitively prove that lack of vitamin D causes disease — or that vitamin D supplements would lower risk.

What other people are saying about it:

“I can not believe how great these taste! I am homebound and I have been battling with my Vitamin D deficiency for years! I always take Vitamin D and Calcium together because I was told that the Calcium absorbs better. I love that these are both Calcium and Vitamin D!

That being said I’ve tried other gummies, caramels, liquids, pills, chewables, yuck after yuck after yuck. Each and every one of them has either had the worst flavor possible, given me heartburn, or left an unpleasant chalk like after taste. We had a $1.00 off coupon from the paper so I went against my better judgment and asked my husband to pick these up when he went to the store. I am so glad that I went against my better judgment now! These are wonderful! Great taste, great texture, and unlike a lot of other supplements I’ve tried they don’t make me ill!”

I really think you guys should get it and I promise, this is a set of vitamins you won’t forget to take.

Preparing for Tests.

School., Tips.

(Sorry guys I’ve been really busy lately) Since it’s testing season, I decided to post some tips that will help you get ready for any test, especially big ones.

  1. Get your full 8.5 hours of sleep.
    1. Especially the week of. It’s important to have enough energy to be able to have a full functioning brain. Spread it out over an entire weekend and take your time. I know you feel like you have to stay up all night studying, but in reality you don’t, getting more sleep is better than studying all night long.
  2. Eat healthy.
    1. I know this one seems unrelated, but this is just as important. Always eat snacks that are good for your brain.
    2. Here are some foods to help fight stress.
  3. Relax often.
    1. Light some candles, take a bubble bath.
    2. I’ve read that it’s scientifically proven that listening to instrumental music helps with relaxing and staying unstressed during the very stressful week. I love listening to something like this. An important thing to remember is that you should try to not to listen to things with words because they cancel out whatever you’re trying to remember.

•Use flash cards.
I know everyone says this but trust me, this helps. I have found that vocabulary, foreign language, and math formulas are best to study with flash cards.

•Do not study for more than 30 minutes at a time.
It helps to study on and off. It’s better for your brain, and it helps with stress. You don’t need to sit there for hours on end. You’ll get bored and not remember anything. Take a fifteen minute break every hour or so to give your brain a breather.

•Study more often than the night before.
I usually study about a week or so before my exams. This year, I only take two, so I study both for 1 hour each day.

•Study in a quiet area.
This way you don’t need to be stressed as much. Especially if you go to a nice, calm, clean environment such as a library.

• Do one fourth of your studying with someone else.
If you study the twelve days before your exams, then make sure you study for less than 72 hours with a friend or a family member. I’ve found that I remember more things when I do it with a study group.

•Remember to study with things that align with your study style
For example if you’re a visual learner, look at charts and videos or if you learn better through audio, record yourself reading your notes or whatever.

Good luck,

DIY: Ombre Hair

Here are some ombre color ideas.

So, depending on the items you have, the total amount this would cost is about $8.OO.

Things you’ll need:

  • 20 volume of Peroxide which probably costs around $1.3O
  • A packet of powdered bleach which depending on what brand you get, comes to about $4.OO.
  • 1 toothbrush. Your probably going to want to use a clean new one if its going in your hair. (Get a cheap one from the dollar store or something)
  • Latex gloves
  • Mixing bowl
  • An old t-shirt. (Make sure you use one you don’t want anymore)

Okay, read these carefully.

  1. Grab your mixing bowl and pour 2 ounces of the 20 volume peroxide.
  2. Then pour the (1) packet of powdered bleach.
  3. Stir until well blended. Remember bleach smells really bad, so do this outside, or somewhere where the smell will go away easily.
  4. Divide your hair into four parts. (two parts on each side of your head)
  5. Once your done separating your hair, put on latex gloves.
  6. Put some of the mixture on your toothbrush
  7.  Starting at the end of your hair, start brushing the bleach on (downward motion)
  8. Its a lot easier if your put your hair on your hand then start brushing the bleach.
  9. Keep applying the bleach on the toothbrush onto your hair as you gradually go further up.
  10. Once you’ve finished going up as far as you want, continue on to the next section of your hair.
  11. Remember that the whole point of ombre is to look like it’s well-blended, so it’s not important to have the hair be even all the way around. What is important is that the left and right sides of your head have ombre starting at about the same place on your hair on both sides.
  12. After your done with all the sections, put more bleach at the ends of your hair so it looks lighter.
  13. Depending on how light you want your hair, leave the bleach in for about 1O to 2O minutes.
  14. Be sure to keep an eye on your hair! you don’t want it becoming too light.
  15. Once its gotten as light as you want it, wash your hair out with sulfate free shampoo and put leave – in conditioner in your hair.

Hope this helped,

Beauty tricks with Coconut oil.

I found a really good Coconut Oil here for ONLY $5

This originally costs $17 so this is an AMAZING deal.

Inspired girl drowned in procrastination.

Coconut oil is such a versatile product and has been used all over the world for decades. If you thought it was just for cooking boy are you wrong. It’s used to WAY more things and all of these will help you at some point.

1. To soothe dry hands
After you come home from school, get out of the shower, do dishes etc. try using coconut oil as a moisturizer. It can work wonders on your dry hands. And if you cook with coconut oil—you can sub it for butter in baking recipes because it’s solid at room temperature—scoop out a little extra for your hands, too. What’s the harm?

2. As a cheekbone highlighter
Nothing perks up a tired face like a little highlighter, but you don’t need store-bought products to achieve the same effect. Simply sweep a small amount of coconut oil on top of makeup and leave…

Healthier Carrot Cake (Tastes just as amazing, if not better then the original)

Since Easter is coming up I decided to share this delicious carrot cake recipe I originally found on the Food Network.
I made it a while ago hence why I had to go back and find the recipe but it tastes great.
The buttermilk and lots of grated carrots really keeps the cake super moist without adding much fat. The whole wheat flour and pumpkin pie spice add a great spiced nutty taste (Plus it’s a healthier alternative to white processed flour).

Total Time: 2 hr 30 min

Prep: 20 min

Inactive: 1 hr 30 min

Cook: 40 min

Yield: 16 servings

Level: Easy

  • Vegetable cooking spray
  • cups whole-wheat pastry flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups coarsely grated carrots (about 1pound)

Lighter Cream Cheese Frosting for serving, recipe follows (optional)

  • 12 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese
  • cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9 by 13-inch baking pan with vegetable spray; line it with a piece of parchment paper, leaving an 1-inch overhang on 2 sides and spray the paper.

Whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt and pumpkin pie spice in a medium bowl. In another medium bowl, whisk the eggs and sugars until pale; whisk in the oil, then the buttermilk and vanilla. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and fold in the carrots. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out with a few moist crumbs attached, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack. Using the parchment overhang, remove the cake from the pan. Frost the cooled cake with the frosting if you want but it really tastes great with it. Cut into 16 (2 by 3-inch) pieces and serve.

Lighter Cream Cheese Frosting:

In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, and vanilla.

Spread the frosting over the top and sides of the cake.

Easter party ideas.

When throwing a party, the theme is the main thing the party revolves around. Decide what you want the color scheme to be, it’ll be easier to buy things and plan around.

If you like to DIY things (do things yourself) here are some cute ideas:

Get some plastic or wooden eggs and just paint them. You can add glitter or get some kids and have some fun with them. If you don’t want to wait for paint to dry you can just draw it on with Sharpie. You can also marble it with nail polish.

Make some “eggs” with yarn. These look so adorable. Here is a video tutorial and here are somethings you can make with them:

Other things you can do with eggs:

Plant Wheatgrass in them

Make a bouquet / Kiana Underwood

  • Your nearest Dollar store (Dollar tree and Family Dollar are great places to look)

10 beauty hacks.

Beauty., Tips.

I’ve came across a lot of tips, online articles and YouTube videos on beauty hacks, many of them require a lot of preparation or things that may be hard to find or expensive.

Here are 10 simple beauty hacks you should try:

  1. Keep your lashes curly after curling them by wearing waterproof mascara
  2. Whiten your teeth if you’re wearing bright pink lips. +bright shades tend to bring out yellow shades aka yellow teeth, yikes!
  3. Make your waterline last by first putting your eyeliner and then go over it with a brush & black eye shadow
  4. Start backwards with your cat winged liner!
  5. If you love putting on nail polish but have weak nails, invest in some Julep, Butter London or Inglot nail polishes. They’re breathable meaning they have breakthrough Oxygen Technology powers this fast-drying, long-lasting nail polish to get nails healthy and more beautiful at the same time.
  6. Add some cold water in your shower, it improves your Immune system. If you do this your skin won’t be as dry as normal hot showers.
  7. Give your feet a massage with a tennis ball!
  8. Give your hairbrushes a clean! +just use warm water &shampoo
  9. To get fast curls, braid your hair and flatiron.
  10. Get rid of split ends by twisting ends of your hair and sniping off split ends.

Here are some other helpful little tips:

Hope these helped,

Common hair removal mistakes and why they’re bad.

Health and Wellness., Tips.

I thought that this was an appropriate tip for right now, considering it’s getting warmer and summer’s coming up. This is a list of common hair removal mistakes and why you should stop doing them! I mention my sources throughout the tip, but then I added more at the end. Following these will make you have a closer shave, a more sanitary shave and a painless experience. 🙂

And just a myth-buster: Shaving does not influence hair growth or thickness. What you are seeing when you shave is actually an optical illusion caused by the blunt hair growing from the shaft and appearing thicker, when it is exactly the same size it always was.

1// Sunbathing Before and After Waxing or Laser Hair Removal

According to them, “You should avoid heat [such as tanning] following a wax treatment for 24 hours because it will inflame the skin. This includes hot water try using cool or lukewarm water.” And according to “If you tan before waxing, there is an increased chance of skin irritation or abrasion, even with no visible sunburn. If you tan after waxing, there is an increased chance of sunburn of that area.” So basically, don’t tan before and after a wax—it will cause major irritation. Wait at least 24 hours.

2// Not Exfoliating
Exfoliation gets rid of all the excess dead skin, which exposes more of the hair. The more hair you expose the more hair you cut off. And the more hair you cut off, the closer your shave will be. But I’d avoid exfoliating after, not only does the, again, expose hair (that this time you won’t be cutting off) it will also irritate the life out of your skin.

A good exfoliate I use for my body is the Spa Professional Exfoliating Polish. It does an amazing job of exfoliating. Sometimes I mix it with another liquid soap so I can get 2 birds knocked out with one stone.

3// Sharing a Razor
According to Dr. Oz (though I do think he sometimes comes off as a crack doctor) “a razor is the worst thing to share in your medicine cabinet. By sharing a razor, you can spread Staphylococcus, bacteria, and viruses by scraping bits of your skin. You can also transfer antibiotic resistant germs in your body. So be mindful of your hygiene and do not share razors!” Sharing a razor is basically cutting your friend, then cutting yourself, and putting both of those wound together for an extended amount of time. The thing is I didn’t even know people did that, it’s really disgusting honestly.

4// Dry Shaving
When you have wet surface you loosen a lot of friction between your skin and the razor, letting the razor glide over your skin. When you shave dry though, that friction is alllll there. And it takes everything with it. Shaving dry takes off way too many skin cells and you’ll be left stinging all over. You’re also more prone to cuts.

5// Shaving During a Hot Bath
Not only is it not a fun thought to think about bathing in your body hair, it isn’t exactly the best way to shave. Your skin actually swells up as it gets really hot. and when your skin swells up, not as much hair is exposed—are you seeing a trend here? Also, hot water leaches out the moisture in your skin, no moisture, no softness. Go for warm water. Which will both soften the skin and keep it moisturized.

6// Not Replacing Your Razor
Not only is this stupid and unsanitary, it hurts and it doesn’t work. Your razor is the a germ’s paradise. Yummy dead skin cells, nice moisture and heat, and all kinds of adjoining bacteria build up on it. Believe it or not, rinsing your razor for a quick second doesn’t actually kill those germs—no, not even if the water is really hot. If you let that sit for months you will risk a skin infection or worse. Not replacing your blade also will make your blade dull—which doesn’t shave as well and it hurts more. It will cause you so much cuts. So, as a recap, you’ll cut yourself, you’ll get an infection, and you won’t even get a nice shave out of it. Replace yours every few months or even once a month depending how often you shave.

7// Getting Waxed or Lasered the Week Before That Time of the Month
This will hurt you so bad. When you are on your period your nerves will be so touchy. It also just asks for inflammation and ingrown hairs. Wax in the middle of your cycle (like if your period starts the first of every month, get it down on the fifteenth).

Hope this helped,

Planning a Baby shower.

DIY'S, Etc., Planning., Tips.

This was a requested tip from one of my readers and of course I said I would help because I LOVE planning parties and events.

1. First off  decide on what kind of baby shower you want to hold. You may not know this but there are many different types of baby showers. Here are a few you might what to look into:

Shop Couples' Shower Invites

Shop Adoption Announcements

Shop Sip and See Invites

Shop Gender Reveal Invites

2. Use a check list. Since I know how stressed and confusing it can be to make one I have provided a step by step checklist to follow below:

Nine or 10 Weeks Before

  • Determine who hosts. Will it be you alone or will you share duties with a co-host?
  • Set a budget. Are you paying for it all, or are others contributing?
  • Decide where to have the party.A restaurant or catering hall? Your home, or that of a friend or family member? If you need an outside venue, scout around and book it early.  (For more on this, see “Planning a Home Baby Shower,” “Planning a Restaurant Baby Shower,” and “Planning a Destination Baby Shower.”)
  • Pick a date.Consult with the honoree’s mother, sisters, and best friends—especially those who’ll be traveling long distances—to find a time when all can be present. Shoot for a month or two before the due date, or at least a month after the baby comes home.
  • Make a guest list.Decide whether to invite women only or couples, then e-mail the honoree’s closest family members and friends for a list of people they think should be invited (with phone numbers and mailing addresses—as well as e-mail addresses, if you’ll be sending an Evite). Or, if the shower is not a surprise, consult with the guest of honor.

Six Weeks Before

  • It can be traditional (baby-related) or as simple as a garden theme, with baskets of flowers and pots of wheatgrass. Keep in mind the tastes of the expectant mother.

  • Send out invitations.Provide a map or directions to the location and an RSVP deadline of no later than a week before the date. [I suggest Minted, the pictures above]
  • Go shopping.Buy decorations and disposable tableware, plus party favors and goody bags (or order them online).
  • Plan the menu.A brunch or tea party is traditional; a light dinner works for evening showers. Also consider finger foods, a potluck, or a dessert party. If you have a theme, the foods should reflect it. If you’ll be doing the cooking, try to choose dishes that can be made a week ahead and frozen, or at least the day before.  (For more on this, see “Baby Shower Refreshments 101” and “Baby Shower Drinks.”)

A Month Before

  • Line up some extra hands.Arrange for cooking, serving, or bartending help or entertainment, as needed.
  • Order the cake. Also, the flowers, rental chairs, etc.
  • Help with thank-you notes.Print out the invitation list, with complete addresses, to give to the honoree (now, if it’s not a surprise; later, if it is), or buy cards yourself and address them for her.
  • Prepare some games.Stock up on whatever materials are needed to play, such as pencils.

A Week Before

  • Follow up on RSVP stragglers.
  • Put together the goody bags. And if you have prizes for the games, wrap those.
  • Plan to get the gifts home.Lay in a store of handled shopping bags, and use discarded wrapping paper to cushion items. If the honoree lives a plane ride away, have labeled shipping boxes and packing materials ready.
  • Assign a photographer. You’ll want your best shutterbug to take photos or videos.
  • Clean up.If the party is at your home, give it a thorough cleaning.
  • Shop and cook, if needed. If you’ll be doing the cooking, buy all the nonperishables, and prepare as much freezable food as possible.

Three Days Before

  • Complete the grocery shopping.
  •  Finish up the food preparations.

The Day Before

  • Do a quick cleaning sweep.Give your house the once-over.
  • Set up the party space.Arrange the furniture. Put out the favors, prizes, and games, and check to make sure you have everything you need. Set out trash bags where the gifts will be opened. And decorate.

On Party Day

  • Pick up the cake. Also the balloons, flowers, whatever.
  • Designate someone to help the honree. She’ll need a hand to record the gifts and the givers.

Here are some great gifts you can give her:

Walmart Baby Box

Mommies first Box

Other subscription boxes

Tips for taking the SAT & ACT

Inspired girl drowned in procrastination.

For those striving to attend college after high school, you all know you need to take the SAT/ACT (see which one your university requires before you take the one you prefer) and to attend amazing universities, you need exceptional scores in order to even be considered.

The ACT is curriculum-based (English, math, reading, science and an optional writing section), while the SAT is more of an aptitude test focused on vocabulary, reading comprehension, general reasoning and problem-solving skills.

If you have a hard time staying focused for long periods, the ACT may be the test for you. It’s shorter, generally more straightforward and there are more knowledge-based questions. English and math are a part of both tests, but the content and orientation is different.

The SAT focuses more on vocabulary and the ACT concentrates on grammar, punctuation and syntax. The ACT includes science and trigonometry, neither of which is found on…

Easy exercises for lazy people.

Fitness., Health and Wellness.

Hahah I for one am super lazy so I don’t blame anyone but I decided to get up on my feet and do some workouts. By now we all know the dangers of eating too much and exercising too little: heart disease, stroke, diabetes, etc. Seeing that I am a lazy person, I needed some that weren’t that hard but still gave me results are here are a few:

Chin Tuck

The Chin Tuck improves posture, helps stiff neck and limbers up the trapezius (neck, shoulders and upper back), as well as the throat and jaw muscles.

Sit or stand, facing directly ahead. Keep your shoulders relaxed. Push your head slightly forward, then pull your head back slowly. Bring your chin toward your chest, and imagine the top of your head is rising toward the ceiling.

Feel the stretch in the back of the neck. Remember to breathe. Hold for 10 seconds. Relax. Repeat as desired.

Butt Clench

This is absolutely the best exercise for lazy people. The Butt Clench tightens the buttocks, helps strengthen the lower back, and helps release stress-related energy in the butt and thighs.

Tuck your tailbone in slightly. Clench your butt together. Hold for ten seconds. Relax. Repeat as desired.

Foot Flexes and Foot Rotations

A human foot has 26 bones, 20 muscles, 33 joints and over 150 ligaments. In one day, the feet take a cumulative force of several hundred tons. When your feet are tired, you are tired. Foot flexes and

rotations help limber up the feet and legs, de-stress the joints and muscles, improve blood circulation and give you an overall feeling of energy and well-being.

Foot Flexes: Slowly thrust out your heel, while pointing your toes toward your knee. You will feel the stretch in the back of the legs. Repeat 5 times with each foot.

Foot Rotations: Slowly rotate your foot at the ankle. Rotate to the left 10-20 times, then rotate to the right. Repeat with each foot.

Backward Elbow Stretch

This is a great exercise for the back, shoulders, upper arms, chest, and posture. The Backward Elbow Stretch can help prevent joint problems such as frozen shoulder.

Raise your hands to about waist-height. Keeping your back straight but relaxed, try to touch your elbows together behind your back. Unless you’re super-flexible, you won’t be able to do it, but you’ll feel the stretch in the shoulders, arms and chest.

Hold for ten seconds and remember to breathe. Repeat as desired.

The Backward Elbow Stretch exercise also helps strengthen the back muscles. Weak back muscles are a common cause of chronic pain and poor posture.

Tummy Tuck Exercise

The Tummy Tuck Exercise helps tone abdominal and belly muscles.

Exhale completely, allowing your stomach to deflate, while pulling your belly button towards your spine. Keep back relaxed, shoulders straight (don’t slouch) . Let the tummy do the work. Inhale, allowing your chest to rise, and let your stomach relax.

Scissor Abs

Scissor Abs

Working against gravity, this ab exercise will target your core quickly and effectively. Just be sure to keep a flat back and control the movement with your abs rather than your legs or arms. Here’s how:

Lie flat on your back with your arms at your sides, palms pressing into the floor. Bring both legs straight up toward the ceiling, engaging your abs and pressing your lower back into the ground.

Keeping abs pulled in and lower back on the ground, slowly lower your left leg until it’s a few inches above the floor, then scissor your legs, lifting your right leg up. This completes one rep. Do 15 to 20 reps.

A few tips:

  • Instead of a chair at work use an exercise ball instead of in your armchair, you’ll strengthen your core muscles and improve your balance without noticing you are exercising. You can additionally use your exercise ball as a seat while reading or working on the computer.
  • To develop triceps, or back muscles on your upper arms, lie on your left side. Grasp your right arm between the elbow and shoulder with your left hand. Try to pull your right arm back while simultaneously creating resistance with your left hand. Do this for a few seconds and relax. Repeat five times before switching sides. Gradually increase repetitions until you are performing 25 on each side per day.

Stay healthy,

#XOVoxbox/Influenster/Adore me Unboxing.

Reviews and Unboxings

Hey guyss. So a few weeks ago I got selected to try a new Influenster VoxBox and for those of you who don’t know what that is check out a post I wrote on it over here. I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

I loved the ones I’ve gotten before (two boxes), so I’m pretty excited. This is just like an ‘unboxing’ and I’ll post reviews later on.

I got to choose one of the items.

I decided to give Adore Me, which I’d never heard of before, a try and ordered a sleepwear set:

I believe they’re trying to give Victoria’s Secret a run for their money, but these were SO SOFT, I literally wanted to live in them forever. The thing is at first I thought it felt a little bit cheap but then realized that it’s 99% probably not for winter haha. But I’m definitely going to live in this throughout the summer.

(Psst:  If you want to give Adore Me a try, click here to get a bra/panty set for $25.)

The next thing I got was the actual Influenster box which included the following:

1. TidePods with Febreze: I hate doing laundry, but I love how these tiny little pods make it a million times easier! Plus the smell of febreze is fabulous and I know my clothes will be smelling GREAT. [$4.99/12 count; $9.99/26 count; $14.99, 43 count]

2. John Frieda Beach Blonde: I am super excited to test these out, especially the salt spray! I have been meaning to buy some to try out. I live no where close to a beach but beach waves are my absolute favorite. [Each full size bottle is $9.99]

Displaying IMG_1030.JPG

3. Optic White Colgate Toothpaste and Toothbrush (with built in whitening pen): I don’t really have white teeth but I don’t want to go out and buy really expensive treatments that might not work. I LONG for beautiful white teeth and that’s a lot to ask for especially since I adore foods that stain teeth so I’m really excited to be able to test this out! [Paste: $3.99-4.99; Brush: $14.99]

4. Skinfix Lotion: I am not a big hand lotion user, but recently I’ve been finding myself with dry hands. This little lotion is the perfect size to through in my bag! This collection of creams and lotion has all the necessities to soothe, heal, and repair skin.. AND is all natural so that’s good. [1 oz $10.00]

These are just a few of the many goodies I found in my pink box! If you aren’t already signed up for Influenster I definitely recommend you check them out! I’ll be posting reviews later on so subscribe to my newsletter to keep up.

**I received the above products complimentary to test and review**

Hope you guys enjoyed this, comment below if you like these unboxing/review type of posts 🙂

Beauty uses for Baking Soda.

Inspired girl drowned in procrastination.

Baking soda is something I’m pretty sure everyone has in their house. Besides being used to cook and clean here are a few beauty benefits of it also:

1// Facial Scrub
Mix water and baking soda to make a paste (about 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water), use it as a scrub to exfoliate your face. Gently massage it into your face for about 1 minute in circular motions, then – rinse. This gentle scrub will make your skin very soft and smooth. I love using it one or two times a week.

Another one you could do is mix 1 table spoon of organic honey (make sure you are not allergic to honey) with one table spoon of baking soda, mix thoroughly until you obtain the paste (you can add a little bit of water, if it’s too sticky); gently, in circular motions massage your face with…

How to:; Convert youtube songs into itunes ones [so you can put them on your iphone/ipod etc]

Random, Technology., Tips.

I used to do this a long time ago && recently I found the link for it again and decided to share it with you guys. Here’s the steps:

  1. Go to
  2. Copy and paste the link of your YouTube video with the song and paste it into the bar.
  3. Wait for it to download, or if you want it to be faster press “click the direct link”
  4. Make sure you know where your file is saved or make a separate collection just for music downloads.
  5. Then double click on the one of the icons (there will be two) of the song that has a black background and a blue shield thing on it.
  6. Double-click on it in the folder, and it will go into itunes as a song in your music library.

OPTIONAL *this is only if you want to change the song name, because it will be the name of the video instead of the song name* Right click on the song, go to “Get Info” and go to “Info” .

Change the song name, artist, album, etc.

If you have an iPod nano or touch, I recommend this. It kinda annoys me when i don’t have the right picture and if it bothers you too, go to google images and look up the album cover and then save it to your computer.

Right click on the song again, press “Get Info”. go to artwork, hit “delete” and then click add. and find the picture you saved to your computer.

There we go, it looks like you got it out of itunes.

Homemade Fruit Roll-Ups

DIY'S, Health and Wellness., Recipes.

Ever since I was little, I’ve always loved snacking on stuff like Fruit Roll-Up’s but recently I realized that they were filled with so many random and also harmful things for you.

Take a look at the ingredient list in General Mills Fruit Roll-Ups: pears from concentrate, corn syrup, dried corn syrup, sugar, partially hydrogenated cottonseed oil, citric acid, sodium citrate, acetylated monoglycerides, fruit pectin, dextrose, maltic acid, ascorbic acid, natural flavor and the following food coloring: blue 1, red 40 and yellows 5 and 6.

I mean wouldn’t it just be better to make some of your own? If you’re curious on how to make some then read on:

This recipe is pretty flexible. You have the freedom to pick one fruit or a mix of multiple fruits. You can use fresh, frozen and/or dried fruit. I suggest making a few different trays of fruit at the same time because these won’t last long in your house and though they are VERY simple to make, they do take a long time to set.

  1. Warm the fruit in a pot on the stove and mix it into a puree. If there are seeds in the puree you can pour it into a sieve to get the seeds out.
  2. Spread the puree on a oil-sprayed silpat baking mat or parchment paper (BE SURE to spray! If you don’t it will stick!). [If you’re letting it sit outside you can use plastic wrap]
  3. 1 1/2 cup of fruit puree is enough for 1 baking sheet, and put in the oven on 140°F (or as low as your oven can go. my stove’s lowest temperature is 170). Leave the oven door open a little bit to let the moisture out.
  4. They’re done when the puree isn’t sticky anymore. (You normally need between 5-8 hours depending on the oven and your fruit choices.) [If you live in a warm climate, you can just leave the pan in the sun for the day].
  5. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut them and roll them with wax or parchment paper when they are still warm. Enjoy this healthy alternative.

Some combos you can use:

Yellow: 1 fresh mango, 200 g dried apricots, 1 orange (the juice) (these come out the best!)
Purple: Frozen raspberries, frozen blackberries and 1 banana (these were very seedy, you could replace the raspberries with blueberries)
Green: Kiwi, mango and mint leaves
Blue: Blueberries and grape juice
Red: Strawberries and banana

You can also add spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla pods or mint leaves.

Credit to this lovely lady for coming up with the recipes above.

50+ Ways to Cure Hiccups

Health and Wellness., Tips.

– Breathe out as much as you can
-Swallow without letting any air out.
-Breathe in more, as far as you can. Do not let any air out!
-Repeat steps two and three as many times as possible. When you feel you can’t swallow anymore, swallow again. You may turn red and make squeaking noises, but keep swallowing and inhaling.
-When you absolutely can’t swallow anymore, exhale all the way.

-Start a stopwatch and click lapse/ split every time you hiccup
-Slowly breathe in until you can hold no more breath, then begin breathing out slowly. Meanwhile imagine that the time difference between each hiccup lengthens.
-Repeat and before you know it, hiccups stop!

-Take in a really big breath, taking in as much air as you can.
-Hold it for 10 seconds than let a little go, not taking any more in.
-Hold it for 5 more and do it again.
-Carry on until you run out of air.
-Repeat 2-3 times.

-Sit in a chair.
-Close your eyes.
-Very gently press your pointer and middle fingers on both of your eyes simultaneously. Apply the pressure until you see “white specs”.
-Slowly release the pressure.

-Hold your breath.
-Take 5-10 sips of water. (Be careful, start small if you have a hard time holding your breath for awhile.)
-Exhale slowly.

-Open your mouth and keep it open for a couple of minutes.
-If you feel the need to swallow, do so, but try to keep your lips apart when you do.

-Make sure you are not wearing anything tight around your chest. If you are, loosen it.
-Keep gulping every few seconds, especially when you feel a hiccup might be coming. A couple of hiccups might escape, but with continuous gulping, hiccups should be gone within 3 minutes.

-Fill a glass with water.
-Bend over until you are as upside down as possible, then drink the water.
-Don’t stop to breathe! That should cure your hiccups.

-Get a 12 ounce glass of water.
-Hold your nose shut by pinching the sides with your fingers.
-Drink as much water as you can as fast as you can. You should feel your ears pop slightly.
-Repeat the steps, if necessary.

-Get a small glass of water.
-Take a sip of water but do not swallow it.
-Tilt your head back as far as possible and swallow the water. Its harder then drinking normally, but your hiccups should be gone.

-Fill a glass of water to the brim.
-With your thumbs, plug your ears.
-With your index fingers, plug your nostrils (squeeze to close).
-With both ears and nostrils plugged, use your remaining free fingers to grasp the glass and raise it to your mouth.
-Drink the entire glass of water without releasing your ears or your nostrils.
-You must finish the entire glass of water without releasing your ears or your nostrils!

-Fill two tall 12 oz. glasses with cool water and set them on a table in front of you. The second glass is for just in case you finish the first one, if you really need it.
-Close your eyes and settle yourself. Confidence and positive thinking are important here, so chill out and loosen up.
-Pick up the first glass and wait for a hiccup. Just after it hits, begin drinking slowly, steadily and continuously until the glass is empty.
-Try not to think about hiccuping as you set the empty glass down. Hopefully you will have interrupted the rhythm of the hiccups, but if not then you will have to go to the second glass and repeat the process.
-Drink the second glass of water, slow and steadily, and do your best to remain calm and relaxed. By the time you’ve finished, the hiccups should be gone.

-Fill a glass with cool drinking water.
-Get a clean paper towel. (If you have no paper towels, a thin cloth will work.)
-Cover the top of the glass with the paper towel. Fold down the edges of the paper towel to completely wrap the top of the glass. Hold the paper towel in place by grasping the glass in your hand.
-Drink a sip of water through the paper towel.
-One sip is often enough; if not, take a few more sips.

-Fill a glass to the brim with room temperature water.
-Slowly drink the entire glass of water by taking very small quick sips. Don’t chug the water and do not remove the glass from your mouth. You should be continuously swallowing small sips of water.
-Slowly drink the entire glass of water by taking very small quick sips. Don’t chug the water and do not remove the glass from your mouth. You should be continuously swallowing small sips of water.

-Fill a drinking glass with room temperature water.
-With glass in hand, bend over at your waist.
-Place your lips on the side of the glass opposite that from which you would normally drink. Your bottom lip should be above the lip of the glass where your top lip would normally be, and your top lip should be against the side of the glass against the edge where your bottom lip would normally be.
-Carefully tip the glass away from you and into your mouth.
-Swallow and repeat. Your hiccups should be gone.

-Get a bottle of water.
-Instead of drinking normally, drink with your bottom lip in the lower portion of the opening and your top lip over the top. You develop a “vacuum” to keep from spilling or pouring it down your shirt. It doesn’t take much; just a sip or two will work.

-Start with a small glass of water (about 4 ounces).
-Put in about half as much crushed ice as you have water. Make sure that the ice bits are smaller than a pea, or choking may result!
-Drink the water slowly, swallowing the ice bits along with the water. If you encounter large pieces of ice, chew so that they break into pea-sized segments and swallow.
-Take deep breaths in between sips. Inhale and exhale, making sure that the air goes into your lungs, so your cheeks shouldn’t “puff up” and fill with air.
-If that does not work, repeat the above method but this time put in 2 tablespoons of sugar.

-Pour about a medium glass of water into a cup.
-Put a metal spoon in the glass with the handle side sticking out. The handle must be out of water.
-Tilt the cup toward your lips like your about to take a sip.
-Make sure the spoon handle is pressing against the area between your eye brows.
-Take a few sips of water while the spoon is pressing against the area between your eyebrows and your hiccups will be gone!

-Get a glass of water.
-Take a sip standing upright, but don’t swallow.
-Turn your head upside down and swallow slowly.

-Get a partner and a cup filled with water.
-Stand facing the partner, bent forward at the waist.
-Have your partner tilt the cup to your lips, and drink.

-Get a cup filled with a non-carbonated beverage of your choice and a straw.
-Take a deep breath and hold it, and with one hand pinch your nostrils.
-With the other hand, raise the cup to your mouth and swallow as much as you can through the straw while holding your breath.
-Hiccups will be gone by the time you are done drinking.

-Start by inhaling through your mouth until your lungs feel full (when it feels like you cannot inhale any more). For overall best results, try to do this as quickly as you can.
-Try to not let any air out before you have completed the steps below.
-Swallow. You are not really swallowing anything but it seems that without this act, it doesn’t work.
-Now inhale some more. You don’t need to inhale a lot, but do get some more air in. It will start to get difficult to do this as you go, but keep trying. You obviously can’t suck in as much air as you did initially, but just a little will do (think of it as taking a “sip” of air).
-Swallow again. This too will become more difficult as you go.
-Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you cannot swallow again. While it seems you can almost always suck in just a little more and the swallowing that gets to be impossible.
-When you feel like you cannot swallow again, swallow again anyway. It will be hard to do, your face will probably turn red, and you may make squeaking sounds. But you can swallow one last time. By this time, your lungs should also be quite full and it should be difficult to get much more air in as well. While you should try not to let any air out, if you have really repeated steps 3 and 4 as many times as you can, you probably will end up letting a little out before you can take that last swallow. If you find that air keeps escaping out of your nose even early in the process, try squeezing it shut with your fingers.

-Hold in a very big breath.
-Have someone else hold your temples until you feel as though you cannot hold your breath anymore. (If you do it to yourself, then it does not work as well.)

-Place 4 or 5 drops of Angostora Bitters on a lemon wedge and bite into the wedge, sucking in the juice. Sugar may be added to the lemon to ease the taste. (Don’t do this too often because the acid in the lemon juice is bad for tooth enamel.)
-Repeat until the hiccups stop.

-Get a glass of water and two straws.
-Put one straw inside the glass as usual and the other straw pressed up against the side of the glass on the outside.
-Put both straws in your mouth at once, drink the water like you would normally, taking as big of gulps as possible.
-Drink a couple of gulps and then your hiccups should be gone.

-Stand upright with your feet hip-width apart.
-Lock one thumb in the palm of your other hand with fingertips outstretched.
-Lift your chin, look up and stretch your arms over your head (reach for the sky).
-Pull your abs in as if trying to let your pants fall off your hips.
-Breathe deeply several times.

-Take a spoon and fill it with brown sugar.
-Hold the spoon in your mouth for five seconds.
-Take a sip of water.
-Repeat until hiccups are gone.

-Fill a tablespoon of sugar.
-Put the spoon in your mouth and slide the sugar off into it.
-Let the sugar dissolve, do not chew or swallow.
-When it all has pretty much dissolved (should take 15 or so seconds) you can swallow it. Hiccups should be gone.

29. AIRLINE ATTENDANT METHOD (Not recommended if you have back problems!)
-Find a straight-backed chair and sit down with your back fully pressed into the back of the chair.
-Slowly bend over in the tuck position with your arms crossed over your body – the same way you would when instructed by an airline stewardess to “get in the crash position”. Do this until you feel slightly uncomfortable.
-Slowly squeeze your arms and try to squeeze your body and hold your breath for 5 to 10 seconds, and release.
-Stay in the same position but relax then repeat this procedure again at least 2 to 3 times. Then slowly sit back up.

-Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees bent, arms relaxed.
-Close your eyes, and become aware of subtle forces on your body.
-Allow your body to sway with the forces, arms floating and drifting.
-Do this for 5-10 seconds, which is usually enough. Watching someone else do it also works.

-Break the rhythm. Hiccups happens at certain intervals (in rhythm). Try holding your breath or consciously not hiccuping to throw off the rhythm.

-Lean back in a chair and get comfortable.
-Slowly breathe in until you feel like you can’t inhale any more, trying to get a feel for extending the breath down towards your abdomen. You are trying to stretch your diaphragm to interrupt the hiccups.
-Hold your breath for 30 seconds.
-Exhale slowly until your lungs are empty.
-Repeat 4 to 5 times or until you feel better.
-Slowly bring your chair back forward as you exhale your 4th or 5th time of this exercise.

-Inhale and exhale once slowly. As you exhale, push as much air out as possible (until your body forces you to inhale again).
-Inhale deeply and stick out your tongue.
-Hold your breath and your nose for 40 seconds with your fingers in your ears.
-Exhale slowly.
-If you feel as if it is not going to work, try again. After all, 3 times is the charm.

-Imagine breathing in a figure eight. As the out-breath reaches the end, slow the breath and twist it around so that it becomes the in-breath. Then simply create a figure eight of continuous breath.
-The hiccups will subside almost immediately. It usually works within 10 cycles.

-Hold your breath for as long as you can. If you hiccup any time during this, start over.
-When you feel like you can no longer hold your breath (CO2 is building up in your lungs, but you still have a lot of air left), let it out slowly for ten seconds, counting in your head.
-Do not inhale during these ten seconds, but if you run out of breath, just skip to 1 and finish.

-Take a deep breath and hold it.
-Plug your nose and close your mouth.
-Now begin to move your diaphragm as if you were breathing in and out rapidly.
-Exhale once the hiccups disappear or you need more air.
-Repeat if hiccups persist.

-Swallow some air until you burp.
-Repeat until hiccups are gone.

-Count the amount of time between hiccups.
-Around the time a hiccup should be coming up, or when you feel it coming up, cough loudly and/or scream!
-Repeat 3 or 4 times.

-Drink about a half a teaspoon of pickle juice every 7-10 seconds until your hiccups stop.

-Drink a normal-sized gulp of water, but don’t swallow! Leave the water in your mouth.
-Pull down both your earlobes.
-Tilt your head back.
-Swallow. It works!

-Have someone cover your ears with their hands, applying pressure, but not enough to cause pain.
-Drink a glass of water normally. This works great!

-Place your thumbs on the little flap in front of the ear canal (called the tragus) and press inward, closing the canal.
-Close your nose with your pinkie fingers.
-Close your eyes, then take a deep breath and hold it as long as possible.
-Try and breathe normally after coming out of the exercise. The natural reaction is to breathe hard or pant.

-If you are with a friend who has hiccups, wait until they hiccup.
-Tell him or her you will give pay $20 for a hiccup right now. The author of this suggestion has been doing this for years and has never had to part with his money!

-Get a big tablespoon of peanut butter.
-Put it in your mouth and hold it for 5 seconds.
-Swallow the peanut butter without chewing.
Alternatively you can use Almond Butter or Nutella. Anything with a sticky gooey consistency similar to PB of which you can eat a tablespoon.

-Breathe inwards quickly until you cannot do so anymore.
-Look downwards so your neck is bent.
-like this for 10-20 seconds.
-to normal position, and think of the air staying down in your lungs. This disrupts the hiccup cycle, and you will no longer have hiccups!

-Suck in your stomach as much as you can for about 10 seconds.
-Release the air very quickly.

-Stick out your pointer fingers straight in front of you, try to get them as close as possible, but not touching each-other. Try not to become distracted.
-Count silently.
-Hold your breath. Do not let out until you have reached 30 or 40, or it will get worse or stay the same. Between intervals, make sure to breathe evenly.

-Get a pencil and bite down on it, so that it’s sitting horizontally between your teeth.
-Drink a glass of water with the pencil still in your mouth.
-Drink as much of the water as you can without the pencil falling out. You do not have to drink the whole glass, just a couple sips will do.

-Stick your tongue out.
-Hold it with your hand if you need to.
-Keep your tongue stuck out for several minutes.

-Point your tongue back towards your throat.
-Hold it for as long as required.
-Maintain the position throughout.

Beauty., DIY'S, Health and Wellness., Tips.

LUSH | Oatifix face mask...but i DIY at home as its that simple to make!I know a lot of you guys out there don’t really like bananas but it can do wonders for your face. Bananas are full of beneficial nutrients for skin. They contain vitamin C and antioxidants that are fabulous for softening wrinkles and conditioning skin.

Banana peels are a great solution for reducing the inflammation associated with psoriasis and eczema. The peel also exfoliates skin removing loose, flaky skin simultaneously nourishing it with antioxidants and minerals. Simply store a banana skin in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to three uses.

Here are a few easy face masks for you to try:

Getting rid of wrinkles//

  • Rub a fresh banana peel onto your skin to get rid of wrinkles and fine lines. The antioxidants and acids will loosen flaky dead skin cells revealing smoother and fresher-looking skin.

Getting rid of acne\pimples//

  • Bananas are effective when used as an acne mask. They’re high in potassium which suffocates the bacteria in cells, helping blemishes heal faster. They also have anti-bacterial properties so when combined with honey, essential oils like tea tree, neem and lavender, it can make a simple but powerful acne mask.

  1. 1 mashed banana
  2. 2 to 3 drops tea tree, neem and/or lavender oil (If you don’t have essential oils handy use a squeeze of lemon or lime juice and a pinch of baking soda or turmeric powder)
  3. 1 tablespoon honey
  4. (OPTIONAL) Add a tablespoon of unsweetened yogurt to boost this recipe

Mix together well and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Stir and apply to skin leaving on for ten minutes before washing off. You can leave the remaining mixture in an airtight container in the fridge overnight and use again in the morning.  Lemon juice stops the mixture going brown.

Getting rid of itchy\irritated skin//

  • Bananas combined with the soothing properties of oatmeal can make a great mask used to soothe inflamed itchy skin.

  2. 1 teaspoon of oatmeal (pre-soaked in a little water or calming cooled chamomile tea)
  3. 1 tablespoon honey
  4. (OPTIONAL) Few drops of lavender essential oil

Mix together well and apply to skin leaving on for ten minutes before washing off.

  5. (OPTIONAL) 1 tablespoon mashed avocado

Have fun,

Humidifying – without a humidifier

I usually don’t reblog posts other than those that are mine but this one is AMAZING. If you don’t already have a humidifier I really recommend these, especially the one about the wet cloth in the room, it really helps. If you are planning to buy one definitely buy this one because it is the best. It is quiet, doesn’t leave a mess and it easy to clean and control. Great for any room of the house.
