Sorry this post has come up so late but I’ve been putting it off for a while as I kept on adding more things and then I was like you know what? Let me just put up what I’ve got, so here it is.

The change of season, basically flu season, get’s to almost everyone. Here’s my tip on soothing a sore throat.

Get a Humidifier
The heat causes your nose to become really dry so sleep with a humidifier on ether

Eat the right medicine
If you blow your nose and clear snot comes out then you have allergies. Take an allergy pill/ medicine instead of the regular Tylenol/Motrin/etc. If you blow your nose and yellow/green mucus comes out, it means you have a cold. This means you should eat a type of Acetaminophen/Tylenol/etc.

Wear Socks
When you go to bed or just when you’re feeling cold in general wear socks. Majority of the time when you feel cold it’s because your feet is cold, so if you cover your feet 60% of your body you will feel warm again.

Moisturize Moisturize Moisturize
All the harsh cold air from outside and the heaters inside will cause your skin to get super dry. If you don’t moisturize, you’ll break out from and get super dry. Your body will send out oils to help balance out your skin which will then make it oily, so moisturize your face and if you have time, your body, in the morning, evening and night time. If you don’t have time to moisturize your body, do it at least 3-4 times a week or else your skin might get so dry that you might get eczema. (If you do get it, use this, it works really nicely.) If you have oily skin you can find lotions that are oil free for example this gel (I use this in the summer tho since my skin gets oily then and it’s great).So try to keep your face to moisturize as much as you can

Drink/eat a lot of Vatamin C filled things
Your immune system is really weak during the winter and you need as much vitamin C as you can to prevent yourself from getting sick. Something you can invest in is Emmerce-C. It’s really odd tasting but in the end it’ll be work it.

Fill your diet with anything and everything healthy
This will help nourish your body and keep it from breaking out, and will help you fight any sicknesses that hit you.

Try to avoid sharing things with others
Everyone has germs and many people are sick and some you may not even know about. So if you want to avoid catching random sicknesses than you shouldn’t share things like cups, chapsticks, etc.

Use hand sanitizers and wash your hands often
In the winter, viruses are EVERYWHERE and unless you want to stay sick for weeks I suggest you keep up with this. Make sure to mosturize a lot as well after this because hand sanitizers strip away the skins much needed oils and that makes your skin even drier than it was before.

Soothing a sore throat.

Where I live it’s Fall and is pretty cold and its only October 😛 I feel like it might snow around the end of the month.

A lot of people are also getting sick and I felt like I was sorta getting a sore throat and was looking up stuff so I decided why not put this up as a tip?

So here are a few things that will help sooth a sore throat:
Garlic//

Try it when: You begin to notice a tickle.

You could microwave a few cloves for about 10 seconds (so it taste less yucky) and crush them up and eat it with honey or crackers.
Zinc Lozenges//

Try them when: You have mild soreness along with a stuffy nose. Pop in one every two to four hours as needed.

Honestly I’m not sure what there are, never seen them before, but they seem like a better and more sick curing thingamajig cough drops. So if you don’t have that suck on a cough drop.
Warm Salt Water//

Try it when: Your throat is feeling sore and scratchy.

Subtitle says it all. The water shouldn’t be hot cause you don’t wanna burn your throat. If you don’t want to drink it try gurgling it.

Also you could try warm water mixed with honey if you want add a few squeeze’s of lemon’s too.
Herbal Tea//

Try it when: The pain persists all day.

Cause it’s warm and soothing.
Over-the-Counter Numbing Spray//

Try it when: Every swallow aches a little.

I used to have one, i think it was Chloraseptic. I might be repurchasing it because it is AMAZING. but all they do is mask the pain 😛 but at least i got sleep.
Humidifier//

Try it when: Your throat feels dry.

It’s good to keep this on all night so when your nose gets all stuffy it’ll open up cause of the humidifier. It’s really nice especially because the heater will be on in the winter and that could dry out your nose and throat even more, which isn’t good 😛
&& make sure to keep it clean.

Also take a shower in the morning, cause the steam will help clean up yucky mucus.
Sleep//

Get a lot of rest. That is the time your body will be fighting off germs and working harder then usual. Try sleeping on top of 2-3 more pillows to help improve breathing through out the night.

Strawberry Lemonade//♥

DIY'S, Recipes.

Just because it’s summer and it’s hot and we all need something easy and refreshing to drink.

Ingredients:

– 2 cups fresh strawberries
– 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, about 5 lemons .
– 1/2 cup honey
– Cold Water
– 1 extra lemon, thinly sliced

Directions:

1. Slice the tops from strawberries, put them off to the side.

2. Add strawberries, honey and lemon juice to a blender and stop when the strawberries are liquid.

3. Pour juice into a 1/2 gallon pitcher, add slices of lemon, fill with cold water. (Don’t over fill pitcher with water, add just enough to make 1/2 gallon)

4. Pour over ice and enjoy!  🙂

If you want, put a lemon on the side of the glass to give it a little something. You could also put some strawberries in the pitcher to make it have more flavor.
